اَلَمۡ تَرَ کَیۡفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّکَ بِاَصۡحٰبِ الۡفِیۡلِ ؕ﴿۱﴾

আলাম তারা কাইফা ফা‘আলা রাব্বুকা বিআসহা-বিল ফীল।

তুমি কি দেখনি যে, তোমার রাব্ব হস্তি অধিপতিদের কিরূপ (পরিণতি) করেছিলেন?

Have you (O Muhammad (Peace be upon him)) not seen how your Lord dealt with the Owners of the Elephant? [The elephant army which came from Yemen under the command of Abrahah Al-Ashram intending to destroy the Ka'bah at Makkah].

اَلَمۡ یَجۡعَلۡ کَیۡدَہُمۡ فِیۡ تَضۡلِیۡلٍ ۙ﴿۲﴾

আলাম ইয়াজ‘আল কাইদাহুম ফী তাদলীল

তিনি কি তাদের চক্রান্ত ব্যর্থ করে দেননি?

Did He not make their plot go astray?

وَّ اَرۡسَلَ عَلَیۡہِمۡ طَیۡرًا اَبَابِیۡلَ ۙ﴿۳﴾

ওয়া আরছালা ‘আলাইহিম তাইরান আবা-বীল।

তাদের বিরুদ্ধে তিনি ঝাঁকে ঝাঁকে পক্ষীকূল প্রেরণ করেছিলেন –

And sent against them birds, in flocks,

تَرۡمِیۡہِمۡ بِحِجَارَۃٍ مِّنۡ سِجِّیۡلٍ ۪ۙ﴿۴﴾

তারমীহিম বিহিজা-রাতিম মিন ছিজ্জীল।

যারা তাদের উপর প্রস্তর কংকর নিক্ষেপ করেছিল।

Striking them with stones of Sijjil.

فَجَعَلَہُمۡ کَعَصۡفٍ مَّاۡکُوۡلٍ ٪﴿۵﴾

ফাজা‘আলাহুম কা‘আসফিম মা’কূল।

অতঃপর তিনি তাদেরকে ভক্ষিত তৃণ সদৃশ করে দেন।

And made them like an empty field of stalks (of which the corn has been eaten up by cattle).
